Floral, clean and complex! - The Mongers' favourite!

We've been waiting and waiting to get our hands on these beautiful benas and finally they're here!

Rich stone fruits, a floral aroma and juicy acidity to finish. Brewing a distinct, bright and complex cup. Shines as a filter & extracts a characterful espresso.

Yirgacheffe is a name recognised by coffee lovers everywhere, and we’ve been hooked on yirg for a while! It shows off everything we love about Ethiopian coffee. Grown at heights of 1,750 metres above sea level in the high-altitude microclimates of southern Ethiopia, these indigenous heirloom cherries mature at a slow, deliberate pace. This prolonged maturation under cooler mountain temperatures maximizes the density of the bean and deepens its natural sweetness and complex acids. Delivering exceptional clarity as a clean pour-over or filter brew—while pulling into a striking, characterful espresso!

The Story Behind the Grade: What is Yirgacheffe G2?
Ethiopian coffees are graded heavily on visual inspection and cup cleanliness before export. Grade 1 and Grade 2 represent the peak "Specialty" tiers. A G2 designation means the coffee was strictly sorted by hand on raised drying beds to eliminate physical defects. For a washed Yirgacheffe, a G2 rating guarantees the pristine clarity, juicy stone-fruit acidity, and intense floral aromas that made the region famous worldwide.
