Ethiopia - Guji

We've been so excited to get our hands on these beautiful beans and finally they're here!

This lot is bursting with jammy blueberries, a bright honeyed sweetness, and a crisp, aromatic bergamot finish. It brews an incredibly expressive, tea-like cup with a vibrant, juicy acidity. It offers spectacular fruit clarity as a filter, while transforming into an intensely characterful, complex espresso.

The Guji zone has carved out a massive reputation of its own, separate from neighbouring Yirgacheffe, thanks to its distinct, wild flavour profiles. Cultivated by smallholders in the forested highlands of the Oromia region, these indigenous heirloom trees grow in nutrient-dense, iron-rich soil. Because this is a natural process lot, the cherries are dried whole in the sun on raised beds, allowing the bean to absorb maximum sweetness and fruit sugars directly from the pulp. The staggering high altitude combined with this meticulous processing is what gives Guji its signature explosive fruitiness and unmatched, layered complexity.
